Fatal accident on Aluthgama- Matugama Road takes life of father

A fatal accident occurred when a Jeep collided head on with a trishaw on Aluthgama-Matugama Road yesterday, Police Media Unit told Ceylon Today Online.

The trishaw driver who was rushed to the Nagoda Hospital with critical injuries has died upon admission. The 37-year-old wife of the deceased who was also critically injured is being treated at the hospital's accident ward and his two children who had minor injuries are being treated at Nagoda Hospital as well.

The deceased was a 46-year-old resident of Dharga Town, Police added.

The driver of the Jeep was arrested in connection with the accident and Aluthgama Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
